Kindergarten/1st Grade Teacher
Hello at Home!
Welcome to Andover eCademy! This is a new and exciting time for you and your child. By working together, we can make it a positive experience for all.
My name is Regina Harshaw and I have the wonderful privilege of being your child’s teacher this year. I graduated from Manhattan High School and then went to Barton County Community College, Bethany College, and Friends University on basketball and academic scholarships. After graduating, I began my teaching career with the Wichita School District where I taught six years of all day kindergarten before coming to Sunflower Elementary School here in Andover. During my first two years at Sunflower, I taught kindergarten part time and worked as a para in the at-risk pre-school. As our school continued to grow and we added more classes, I taught both morning and afternoon kindergarten, full day kindergarten, and first grade during my 13 years at Sunflower Elementary. I have always had a great interest in Andover eCademy and when the opportunity to join this awesome teaching family came open, I was so excited to apply for the position and I am now beginning my 21st year of teaching doing something that is different and new. I am looking forward to a great learning experience with you all as we work together to educate your child.
I am married to Ryan, or Coach Harshaw, as most people know him as he is the P.E. teacher at Andover High School. Varsity Girls and Boys Golf are the sports that he coaches throughout the school year. We are blessed with two wonderful daughters, Brianna (18), and Brittany (13). We also have a cat named Calista and a new Goldendoodle puppy named Bailey. We have lived here in Andover for twenty-one years and we are glad to be a part of this wonderful community.
The adjustment of beginning school for the first time is a big one for both kids and parents. It is my hope to help your child develop a love of learning as well as good work habits, self-control, and a positive attitude about school. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. My email address is: email@example.com. You may also reach me by webmail through Pearson Connexus or call me at school at 218-4470 (ext. 24121). I am looking forward to a terrific year!
