My name is Michelle Johnson and I am the 4th grade teacher here at Andover eCademy. I just started my 26th year of teaching and am so excited to be working in Andover.
I went to college at Emporia State University where I graduated in May of 1993 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Education. I took my first teaching job at St. James in Augusta teaching 4th grade. Due to a position opening up at Magdalen (my home parish school), I moved there after one year. I taught 4th grade there for several years before moving into the Extended Learning position. I then began working with students at all grade levels K-8 that could benefit from extra enrichment. One of my favorite parts of my job was getting to work with certain students year after year and developing great relationships with them and their families. After twenty wonderful years, I left the Catholic Diocese to come to Andover eCademy.
I am blessed with two wonderful children; my daughter Makenna, a junior at Washburn University in Nursing, and my son Cole who is a Junior in high school. If I have any spare time, I enjoy going for long walks, bike rides or watching movies.
I am really enjoying this stage of my professional career, especially at a place like eCademy, which offers something totally new and exciting. I enjoy getting to know the eCademy students and their families while working with them over the years through the blended virtual school setting.
